Artifacts identified as "formal deliverable" in this development
case will be reviewed and approved by the customer at the appropriate Lifecycle
Milestone Reviews scheduled in the Software Development Plan.
In addition, all artifacts are to be reviewed informally by at least one other
person on the project, who approves the artifact before it is considered complete
for a given milestone. These may be walkthroughs or inspections - as decided
by the reviewer. See Work Guidelines:
Reviews for more information.
Any defects found during review which are not corrected prior to releasing
for integration must be captured as Change
Requests so that they are not forgotten.
On a small project, each person is responsible for a variety of roles.
An example of this is provided in the Software
Development Plan Template for Small Projects.
This development case and small project process may be used directly if it
is a good match for your project. However, typically some minor tailoring is
still needed. Tailoring options include:
- Editing this Development Case to remove or tailor the artifacts, activities,
roles, etc.
- Using the Process Engineer Toolkit
to modify the treebrowser and process webpages. This may include adding new
activities, artifacts, guidelines, etc.
For detailed guidance on tailoring a process, refer to Discipline:
Environment.
